My name is Mbali Tshabalala. I am 20 years old and currently studying at Wits University. I am originally from Carletonville, West of Johannesburg, and that’s where I spent most of my childhood. Growing up, I wasn’t into a lot of extra-curricular activities(I actually sucked at most, lol!) but I did have a profound passion for public speaking and writing. It’s been a target of interest for me which I have been hoping to expand on and this blog provides the perfect fit! 🤩
More about me
I absolutely love writing. I love talking and sharing my stories. I love being open and expressive, I believe it helps other people in some way to know that they are not alone and creates ground for people to feel understood. I also love to listen to others tell their stories, how they feel and their thoughts, and I want to use this platform in a way that is very personal to you through sharing my own life stories and my own journey.
I’ve been dubbed the ‘overly positive friend’ by a lot of my friends and people who have gotten to know me, and I think it’s true😂 I do have an optimistic view of life. I have also seen how this view falsely misleads other people into thinking I have it ‘easier’ in some way but to be quite candid I really don’t, lol! I have a firm belief that the sun will always come up, and just like everyone else I do have bad days where darkness just seems to overpower the light and disturbs my view of a brighter horizon(I believe we all have those😂 It’s not a bad thing!) I do however, keep a generally positive outlook.
Why this blog
I will be engaging a wide range of topics in here and sharing details about my life and my own journey through it but the main purpose for this blog is self-help. I will be sharing tips on matters that I’ve experienced first-hand. I also want this blog to be about you. I want you to feel home and I want you to feel understood. So feel free to pop me a message or leave a comment on anything you would like to see me talk about🤩
Interests
I am quite a law geek, lol! I spend a lot of time reading up and watching documentaries. I also love to read a lot of psychology and self-help. Other than that I’m always open to new things that will gratify my soul and expand my view of life.
